EPAL pallet production reaches record levels in 2021

Annual production of new EPAL Euro pallets exceeded 100 million for the first time in 2021

Düsseldorf, 3 May 2022 – The European Pallet Association e.V. (EPAL) maintained the continuous growth of the EPAL Euro pallet pool in 2021. More than 100 million new EPAL Euro pallets were produced for the first time in a calendar year in 2021.

The Board of the European Pallet Association e.V. (EPAL) decided on 10/03/2022 to allow Class C EPAL Euro pallets to be repaired with reclaimed boards and blocks. This encourages the reuse of components made of wood as part of the circular economy and thus serves to protect the climate and wood resources.

The 10th Ordinary General Assembly of EPAL Türkiye, the EPAL National Committee in Turkey, took place on 22/01/2022. The main purpose of the General Assembly was the election of the Board.

EPAL International helps people in Ukraine and supports those who have fled Ukraine.

Several EPAL licensees in Ukraine have started production of EPAL Euro pallets again.

The Board of the European Pallet Association e.V. (EPAL) met in Berlin on 10 March 2022. The discussions focused on the war in Ukraine and its effects. The EPAL Board also made an important decision regarding the repair of EPAL Euro pallets.

EPAL Polska, the National Committee of EPAL in Poland, started actively providing assistance shortly after the war in Ukraine began.

The war in Ukraine and EU sanctions against Russia and Belarus will have a long-term impact on the European pallet market.
